Our first full day riding in Argentina 🇦🇷 takes us north from Malargüe to Mendoza, following the legendary Ruta 40.
It looked like a straightforward 400 km day — until we spotted a promising gravel track running through the empty plains of western Argentina. Google Maps wouldn’t route that way, but we decided to take a look anyway.
After 40 km, progress was slow, the scenery vast, and the reality set in: the rest of the route would take far longer than we’d planned.
This episode captures that moment — when an adventure doesn’t go to plan, but still delivers stunning landscapes, solitude, and a sense of scale only Ruta 40 can offer.
We end the day in Mendoza, where the weather warms, the city comes alive, and we finally solve Argentina’s money mystery — and enjoy those long-promised empanadas and cocktails. 🍹
