This video is not intended to claim this is the best solution, but it works for me and I have zero audio issues now regardless of which CarPlay unit I use and whether it offers the option to have the audio sent direct to the headset from the phone or not.
NOTE: Android users I suspect you can more or less recreate anything I've shown in this video using apps for Android such as "Tasker" or "MacroDroid". I don't have an Android device to try this with but I would imagine it's equally as simple.
This fix should work regardless of what unit you use whether it's the @Carpuride-tech @CHIGEEGO or any other brand. Obviously if they have the setting in the unit to not send audio to the screen then I recommend using that and not my shortcut/fix.
