In December 2024, I had the privilege of attending a 3-day wedding in Kathmandu, Nepal—one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. My friend Ajay, who grew up in Nepal, was marrying Monica, another close friend, and about 20 of us traveled there to celebrate their love and explore the vibrant city together.
When I first set out to make a documentary, I wanted the film to focus mainly on Nepal, rather than his journey to America. I didn’t film as much as I hoped, and the interview I wanted to do in Nepal had to wait until we were back in LA. There was limited footage of Nepal and his friends/family because I didn't want to take away from being there and living in the moment.
Still, this experience was priceless. It was so unique to not just travel to a country none of us had really been before, but to also experience it through my friend Ajay, who grew up there. Traveling is the best thing you can do for yourself if you're able to do so. You learn about other cultures, learn how to be outside your own comfort zone, and make memories you'll never forget. I'm forever thankful for being given this opportunity, and to say I have attended my friend's wedding in Nepal!
