These roads don’t exist yet.
At least… not for me.
This video is a quiet promise to my future self.
Right now, I live in Alaska — where winter parks the bike, freezes the roads, and leaves a lot of space for thinking. The DR650 is waiting. The maps are waiting. And this small toy bike stands in for a journey I won’t begin for another five to seven years.
I’ll be close to sixty when I do.
This isn’t about speed, distance, or ticking off countries.
It’s about patience. Judgment. Rest. And choosing meaning over momentum.
These are my unwritten roads — the places I hope to ride someday, even though I don’t fully understand them yet. Borders I haven’t crossed. Terrain I haven’t faced. Questions I haven’t answered.
I don’t know how my body will feel.
I don’t know what will go wrong.
I don’t know what fear will show up.
But I want to find out.
Being older doesn’t mean I’m late.
It means I’m bringing experience, restraint, and the wisdom to stop when I need to — and continue when it matters.
This video isn’t a route plan or a checklist.
It’s a reminder to keep moving in the right direction, even when the engine hasn’t started yet.
I’m planning to ride around the world slowly — and one day, to end that journey in Sweden, building a new home and a new life.
If you want to follow along as these roads slowly get written — please subscribe.
I’ll keep sharing the planning, the learning, and the quiet steps that happen long before the first day of a multi-year journey.
