Join me for Part 2 of my 3-part, 2,000-mile solo motorcycle journey from my home in Talkeetna, Alaska on my trusty Suzuki DR650. I’m a solo female rider in my mid-50s, riding only my second summer back on a bike after 20 years away — and this section of the trip is full of unforgettable northern landscapes.
After an incredible time across the Top of the World Highway and in Dawson City for Dust to Dawson 2025 event, I point my DR south and ride through the heart of the Yukon:
• Dawson City → Whitehorse
• Whitehorse → Skagway
• Ferry across Lynn Canal to Haines, Alaska
• Then the long remote stretch up the Chilkat Pass, across alpine tundra, past turquoise glacial rivers, and beneath the massive peaks of the St. Elias mountain range

What seat do you have on your DR650? — I have a lowered seat by Seat Concepts. I am quite happy with it. It's by far much more comfortable than the factory Suzuki DR seat.
