Belgium might be small, but don’t let that fool you — it absolutely delivers when it comes to motorcycle riding, culture, history, motorsports, and food.
In this episode of the Wallonia Belgium series, I’m sharing the top reasons why Belgium is such an underrated destination for a European motorbike trip and why it deserves a spot on your travel or motorcycle bucket list.
From beautifully smooth tarmac and endlessly twisty roads, to rolling countryside, forests, cobbled streets, and storybook scenery — riding here is an absolute joy. Add in castles, striking architecture, and layers of history around every corner, it’s impossible not to fall in love.
If you’re into motorsports, Belgium is on another level. Home to world-class racing circuits like Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the country has deep racing heritage across motorcycles and cars. Even better, there are public-access tracks and driving facilities where everyday riders and drivers can experience circuit time — something that makes Belgium incredibly special for motorsport lovers.
Belgium is also packed with powerful historical sites, including World War II landmarks like Bastogne and the Battle of the Bulge — places that stop you in your tracks and remind you just how much this country has witnessed.
And then there’s the food…
Belgian chocolate, waffles, fries done properly, incredible local cuisine, and of course beer — so many types of Belgian beer, each with its own character and story.
What really ties it all together though are the people — warm, welcoming, and proud of their country — plus the fact that Belgium is incredibly easy to get to. It’s close to the UK, well connected from across Europe, and simple to travel around once you’re there.
If you’re looking for a destination that offers great riding, rich culture, unforgettable food, deep history, and motorsport passion, Belgium might just surprise you.
