After years on the hardstand and a long summer of boat jobs and delays, we finally splashed our beautiful sailboat Flying Freedom into the water. A new rudder, new seacocks and plenty of work still to be done, we also have the small task of, erm... learning how to actually sail. Join us for our first few weeks of boat life as we adjust to a whole new way of living and prepare for a summer exploring the south coast of England by sail.

If you recognise our faces, you might have seen us before as Overlanding Sophia. We're Chesca and Ben, and with our two pups River & Scout (🐶 🐶 ) we've spent the past 5 years living and travelling full time in our camper van Sophia. She's taken us from the far reaches of Turkey, to the north of Alaska and the rainforests of Guatemala. But now, we're officially starting a brand new chapter as we learn to sail on our 40ft sailboat Flying Freedom. It's time for a new challenge and a new adventure.
