Nine weeks postpartum and back on the bike! I didn’t think I’d make it past the fire trail at Wern Ddu Quarry, but not only did I finish it – I even tackled some of the hill climbs that used to intimidate me before pregnancy.
My body isn’t in the same shape it was pre-baby, and that’s okay. This ride was about proving to myself that with patience, hard work, and determination, you can bounce back and do the things you love – even if it’s on a slightly smaller scale.
Getting back on the bike has been huge for my mental health and recovery. If you’ve been wondering whether you’ll ever find “you” again after pregnancy, this video is proof that it’s possible. Fight for it, take it one step at a time, and remember – progress is progress.
