Jake and Will are building a sprint bike from scratch called ‘Article 58’. The bike will be using an Ariel frame, Jawa 500cc engine and will run on Methanol fuel.
This is chapter 2 of their build. They have 2 weeks to complete the build which they are hoping to debut at the Malle London ‘The Mile’ event on 2nd July.
The build is a collaboration with Jon Foster, who will be riding the bike at the event. Jon has had a passion for bikes all his life and has been racing dirt bikes in enduro, pre 65 trial and classic scrambles.
Jon’s name for the bike, ‘Article 58’ refers to a Russian penal code used to arrest those suspected of counter-revolutionary activities, dissidents, free thinkers and free radicals. The essence of the build is to be free to fabricate, improve, repurpose and have fun - going against the established doctrine of the modern world.
