After living in Japan for more than twenty years, I set out to rediscover the country by motorcycle — traveling slowly across coastlines, mountain passes, historic towns, and places most travelers never see.
Project 47 follows a solo rider across all 47 prefectures of Japan, documenting the landscapes, people, and unexpected moments that appear when you leave the main roads behind.
