Project 47 is a cinematic motorcycle travel documentary series following a solo rider crossing every prefecture of Japan.
After living in Japan for more than twenty years, I realized something had quietly changed. The country that once felt endless had become familiar. Roads I once dreamed about had become roads I simply passed by.
Then life reminded me how fragile time really is.
When my wife went through cancer treatment, everything shifted. Waiting for “someday” stopped making sense.
Project 47 was born from that moment.
This series follows a solo motorcycle journey across all 47 prefectures of Japan, traveling slowly through back roads, coastlines, mountains, and small towns — rediscovering a country I thought I already knew.
This is not a motorcycle review channel, and it isn’t a typical travel vlog.
Project 47 is a long-form motorcycle travel documentary series about solitude, discovery, and the changing perspective that comes with riding through life in your late 40s.
Japan has a way of revealing itself slowly — through quiet roads, unexpected conversations, and the simple act of continuing forward.
This film is the beginning of the journey.
