Welcome to the second instalment from my trip to California to ride Triumph’s updated 2026 Modern Classics line-up, and my first time riding the Bonneville Bobber and Speedmaster. Pegs were scraped, fun was had!
See the video for more but the short version is both bikes get the updated rider electronics applied to the rest of the Bonneville range, so cornering ABS and traction control plus some detail upgrades to the wheels, styling and more besides. Interestingly both are now available in restricted A2 licence form for the first time as well, opening them up to a new, younger audience than before. What are they actually like to ride, though?
Thanks also to @neevesybikes for the tips on body position so as to avoid scraping pegs on cruisers like the Speedmaster. For his full explanation see: https://youtu.be/XFXpnkMc138?si=peS6FhBlwS5S9ysp&t=745
